SCHOOL YEAR BEGINS
Welcome to the 1st issue of the 2009 School newsletter. This issue will introduce to you our teachers for 2009, student population per class, classroom allocation and other news.

There are two IT lab technicians who will be helping the students in the IT laboratory and maintain our network system.
They are: Mr. Inamuka and Mr. Mua
We now also have a full time Boarding Parent who will look after our boarding students. She is Mrs. Javi and for this week she has been doing a good job in settling our boarding students. Apart from Mrs. Javi we have 7 teachers living on campus and who will be helping out from time to time.

As of Friday 6th February, 9:30 am the following student population figures were recorded from each grades.

Our student numbers are increasing daily and we expect to have full classes by next week.
CLASSROOM ALLOCATION
Grades Play– 1: ELC classroom
Grade: 2– 5: Junior School classroom
Grades 6– 9: Middle school classroom
Grade 10– Grade 10 classroom
Grade 11– Grade 11 classroom
Grade 12: Grade 12 classroom

PARENTS AND GUARDIANS 1st COFFEE EVENING 2009
On the Wednesday of week 3 18/02/08 the school will have its first Parents and Guardian’s Coffee Evening. This is an opportunity for Parents and Guardians to come in and discuss your child’s academic performance with the teachers. We will keep you informed of the starting time and the program of the evening in our next newsletter.
SCHOOL MAJOR ASSIGNMENT
Starting next week Monday (9/02/09), all students from Grades 6– 12 will be given a major assignment to work on for the next 4 weeks. This major assignment constitute half the marks for their assessments for this term and so parents are encouraged to help your child when they bring the topics home. All assignments are to be computer generated and so if you have computers at home please allow you child to spend some time on the computer especially over the weekends to get the assignment completed. The children in the Junior school (Gr. 4-5) and the ELC (Gr. Play—2) will be given projects to work on by their respective teachers.
PE CLASSES & SCHOOL SPORTS
All Physical Education classes and the school sports programme will commence next week. Students from Junior School to the High school should be able to inform the parents about the dates and time of the Physical education classes. All our Physical education classes as well as the School sports programme is held at the National Sports Institute. Students will be transported down to NSI for every PE class and during Friday afternoons.
All students are also encouraged to be appropriately dressed on all PE and sports activities . They should have appropriate sporting clothes and a pair of shoes. For the little children a cap would help to prevent
